A mentoring relationship is a sensitive one. It is of utmost importance that you keep your mentee’s information confidential and private. These reflections should focus on you, what you learned about being a mentor, and how you learned to create goals and problem-solve along the way. Focus on what you did and what you experienced.
Reflect (Before you are matched with a mentee): (200-300 words) Reflect on your mentor training. What impacted you from the training? Now that you are preparing to be matched with a mentee, you will create some goals. What goals will you make for this coming mentoring process? What are some concerns that you have about beginning this role? How will you address those concerns?
Reflect: End-of-Semester Reflection - Looking back at your beginning of the semester reflection and thinking about your experience mentoring, how did the process of mentoring change you as a person? How did you adapt and adjust throughout the mentoring process to become a better mentor?
Artifacts:
Before you start choose an artifact that represents something that you want to give as a mentor. Write a clear caption that connects your artifact to your Pre-Mentoring reflection piece.
For the final artifact: Make a video of yourself discussing the top 3 things that you learned about mentoring. OR Provide a series of Photos that exhibit the top 3 things that you learned about mentoring from your ongoing experience.
