1. Reflection on your Jam experience - DUE Week 2 Teachers are looking for evidence of Student Learning Outcome 1: Analyze external and internal motivating factors of successful college students. Length: 300-500 words, college-level writing. Carefully include these three parts in your entry: a) Artifact: Video - Attach a 1-2 minute (max) video artifact (YouTube URL) for this piece. In the video, introduce yourself to your College One professor, and explain who has influenced you the most about coming to college - how have they influenced you? (if you have trouble getting your video onto YouTube, click here - Apple products | here - Android) b) Reflect: Describe some specific things that happened at your Jam. Comment on how Jam influenced your expectations for what will happen in college and how expectations connect to your reasons for going to college. Explain any significant differences between your thinking before Jam and after Jam. Are there other things that you learned in your Jam experience that were significant to you? c) Reflect: Think of all of the people that were a part of your Jam experience: tutors, coaches, counselor, professors, or peers. Name the people or conversations that were the most significant to you during the Jam and describe their significance. Name a resource on campus that you learned about in the Jam. How do you plan to use that campus resource this semester? Describe how community or resources might be important as the semester gets more intense |

What is the most impactful thing that has happened for you in this last week and how has it impacted your feelings about college? c) Reflect: Think of all of the people that have had conversations with you about going to college. Name the people or conversations that were the most significant to you during the decision-making process and describe their significance. Name a resource on campus that you have discovered and explain how you plan to use that campus resource this semester? If the semester gets intense for you, who will you go to for support on campus or off? What resources on campus will you use to help you? |

Teachers will also be looking for evidence of Student Learning Outcome 3: Select and apply appropriate study skills to college coursework. Length: 300-500 words b) Artifacts: Think about all of the different kinds of learning opportunities you have had this semester: silent, independent work, computer-based modules, collaboration on projects in teams, audience member at large events, community member in your club or event, presenter of your own work, etc. a) Reflect: In all of your courses so far this semester, name an assignment or experience that made you feel the most successful and one that made you feel least successful. Explain the parts of the assignments that made you feel most and least successful. Articulate three specific things that you need to do (strategies, people that can help you, etc…) to help the least successful area become more successful by the end of the semester. Choose 2 artifacts for this assignment: 1. Choose at least 1 artifact that shows how you have successfully implemented a student success strategy from any of your courses. (Study Schedule, photo of your planner, photo of your tutor, photo of you at office hours, video of you working out, detailed notes from class.) 2. Attach an artifact from the least successful experience (A photo of your test, a screenshot of your exam score, and a copy of your essay.) |
